catnip

A picture of my catnip plant.
I tried to put this on my blog this afternoon, but couldn't open the files. I had to get Lynettea to fix some of her mistakes on the computer. She had to remove a new program she downloaded and reinstall her other programs before I could find the picture. I might put a picture of my grass on later. I will ask Lynettea to take a picture of some of my grass clumps. She put one of my clumps out in the sun to make it shoot more and it is now very vigorous. She has to cut back one of my cat grass clumps in the garden quite a lot. I usually wee on it actually (sorry to be rather crude).
Today I jumped on the back fence. I only had time for a quick look at the place at the back before Lynettea dragged me off and carried me inside. I don't think I am in her good books after I spent some time recently in the cupboard with the plates and cups. It wasn't my fault that she shut me inside. I couldn't help it if she couldn't find me anywhere. I was quite keen to leave the cupboard by the time she found me.

p.s. I think couch grass is my favourite. We have some growing near the front gate so I can chew on it. Lemon grass is quite nice too, if you try the new shoots. I am a bit of a grass connoisseur.

p.p.s tigers like lavender. Did you know that?

Wow, your very own catnip plant! You are lucky. I never knew there were so many kinds of grasses either.

Hello daisy, munchkin, missy and monte and lux. Thank you for all your messages dear friends. Lynettea got me the catnip plant from a plant nursery a short way from where we live. Maybe it likes growing in this sort of climate? It tends to die back in winter and then shoots out again. I don't eat it, but I have it rubbed on my fur. We had a cat that visited from over the road, who rolled in the pot and broke all the stems last year, but the plant is growing again now.
That's a great pot of catnip. Years ago Mom used to grow catnip for us here in Virginia. Unfortunately, it's hard to keep it alive when we, or neighbor cats, would roll in it and eat it to the nubs! Yum!

Hi Jake and Bathsheba, it is good to see you. I think the plant might like growing in a warm climate if you grew it in Virginia. Here in Adelaide it is pretty warm too, except in the middle of winter.

That is so cool that you have your own catnip plant! You seem to know a lot about plants and grasses.

Purrrs, China Cat & Willow
Diamond, tagging is a fairly simple thing, though it may sound mysterious. With the reasons for blogging, someone got the idea to post on that, then he or she "tagged" five other cats to make a post on the same subject. They, in turn, are supposed to tag other cats. It could go on and on like a chain letter, but usually stops when cats can't think of any other cats to tag who haven't been tagged already. Weird explanation, but I hope you understand.

You might want to visit Skeezix's Cat Blog Help Center (there's a link from his regular blog) and he explains a lot of terms like "meme." He also has lots of blogging tips.

Wow! I didn't realize that catnip grew in a pot like that. That's wonderful that you have your own supply. My grandma buys me cat grass every once in a while. Maybe I will ask her for some catnip too.
