Cats with dementia

Lynettea says this picture makes me look like a wise old owl. I am not sure whether to be flattered or annoyed by this remark.
I have found a post about cats getting dementia. That means getting senile in case any of our human friends are reading the blog. There is a good link on this subject here:

The article says that as long as the cat has a good diet, companionship and mental stimulation he or she is less likely to develop dementia. Also if the human plays with the cat it is good for both of them.

I have to make sure that I take Lynettea out regularly for her walk and play with her at least once a day. I don't want her to be understimulated and get dementia. Otherwise where will my food come from. She may be too forgetful to put any food out or put water in my bowl. I need to look after her.

She thoughtfully warmed up a wheatbag in the microwave for me this afternoon and gave it to me for a snuggle.

That's a lovely picture of you, Diamond. I find I have to keep reminding my bean to feed me every day!

Oh Diamond, you do look very wise in that photo. And proud, too.

I am going to show this article to my Mommie so she understands she must devote much time to playing with me so I do not get dementia.

Lux, I have to remind Lynettea, my human helper, about practically everything. And then I have to watch her closely to make sure she does it properly. Fortunately I have my blog as an outlet for my frustrations. Chatting to my friends and sharing our problems means a lot to me.

What's a wheatbag?
It looks like the cat's owner suffers from the same disorder.

Oh Diamond, it's a really good idea to play with Lynetta to avoid dementia. I think I should try it with Silke&Wolfgang too, because meanwhile they forgot to buy some of our special foods.
You look wonderful at your sunny place.

For the crew and any others who don't know this information: a wheatbag is a small bag of fabric with wheat inside that you put in the microwave for a few minutes to heat up. It smells nice, like wheat. You can put it next to you to warm any parts you want to warm up. Lynettea often puts it on her shoulders for a while and then gives it to me when it isn't so hot. I don't like it too hot.
