World Day for Laboratory Animals 24 April
Lynettea would not let me look at the picture of a poor monkey in the newspaper yesterday. She said the monkey was being tortured by scientific experiments. She couldn't bear to look at the monkey's sad and frightened little face. I don't think I would like to see that, as I don't like suffering. Lynettea said she thought humans were cruel and she felt sick in the stomach.
I don't think she is really cruel, slapdash is more what I would say. If I wasn't there to remind her all the time of what she needs to do then she wouldn't look after me properly. I dread to think what would happen if I was not there to organize her.
Let us hope that humans stop torturing our fellow beings. I would stop them if I could.
This is a picture Lynettea took of a happy white cheeked gibbon swinging in the trees at Adelaide Zoo. Biggify if you want to see more of it. Humans are tearing down the proper forest homes of the gibbons too.
