hORROR tRIP TO THE vET

Quite some time has passed since my last post. I had a trip to the vet in the taxi and the brutal taxi driver swerved violently to go around a roundabout. My pet carrier cage tipped right over. I can't tell you how much this upset me. I have arthritis as it is, so you can imagine me being tumbled over and falling against the bars.
Lynettea told me later that she was very annoyed, but didn't say anything to the driver, who didn't seem to know where he was going. I think she was nervous of saying anything.
The vet took me into the BACK ROOM and gave me an enema, which is an insulting procedure. Although afterwards, when Lynettea said to me that I must feel refreshed and relieved I had to agree. She said she could hear my pathetic cries while she waited in the reception area.
I am still on my diet of fresh roast chicken every day. Lynettea says that the staff in the HOT CHICKEN SHOP always ask after me and how I am doing.

Today she carried me down the street to the house next door where my Irish Terrier friend Orla lives. Orla was so excited to see me again. She whirled around and around and then we touched noses briefly between the bars of her gate. Then Lynettea held me up so I could look over the top of the gate. Orla jumped up again and again to reach me, her tail waving.
Then I came back home and sat on the Snugglesafe, which was nice and warm.

That taxi ride was just plain dangerous and truly scary for you and for your human.

Ugh, sorry about the enema. Derry had a baby enema over a year ago, once. Our mom doesn't want to remember how Annie spent 5 days in the vet clinic, having repeated enemas a few weeks before she died. Poor thing. Looking bad, it was an insane thing to do and our mom can't bring herself to go to that vet again, even though we're all still at the same clinic.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. We're just glad you're home and hope you uh, stay regular from here on in!

Oh Diamond, we are sorry to hear about that awful rip to the vet. As if the ride there wasn't enough, you had to have an enema? ::shudders::

That chicken diet sure sounds good. Enjoy!

How nice that you got to visit with Orla. Nosetaps are great, aren't they?

Poor sweetheart. What a terrible experience for you and an upsetting one for your mum as well. That short of problem is certainly no fun for us.
Have you been drinking enough fluids? For occasional constipation we get Miralax- a human med- in a very small dose. Our vet says it's ok. You can read about it on the net. Works well but is not a substitute for good hydration. If you have chronic renal failure, your vet may not want you to take it because it pulls water into our colon and we may get dehydrated. It is an over the counter where we live. All of our love to you, dear.

Diamond, we are sorry you had such a time at the vets. The appointments themselves are bad enough, one doesn't need the crazy ride on top of it all :) we hope you had a good check up and glad you feel better. We think it's nice you have friends at the chicken shop that ask about you.

We're sorry we missed your post about your bear friend Emma. Please accept our sincere condolences. We're glad he knew love and freedom and had good friends like you. Purrs,

Pip, SMidgen, Minnie, Hollie
Ugh! And enema sounds like no fun, not to mention the trip in the taxi. At least it is over now.

That was a horrible trip. I hate it when the vet puts things where they don't belong. I am glad that you feel better, though. You are very brave to be friends with a woofy. I don't like them much.

An enema??? My Human explained that to me and it sounds HORRIBLE! And especially coming on top of that dreadful taxi ride (I HATE car rides)! Poor you. Still - you are very lucky to get real chicken every day!
Hope you are feeling a bit better now!
