Hailing

I was at home alone when there were a lot of very loud banging noises overhead and noisy things falling on the roof. I left my usual sleeping place, as it did not feel safe. When Lynettea came home she told me it had been hailing and there were piles of ice outside. When the rain stopped, we went outside together so I could inspect the damage.
We didn't stay out long. A rather tough looking small dog was taking his human for a walk and started barking. I think barking at Orla next door. When the dog went past, I stood on my front step looking at it. It had good control over the human it was leading. It didn't see me. Then some humans came in next door and said, Oh is that hail! Amazing!'
Then we went in.

I've never seen hail! I've heard it is pretty cool, and the closest thing we ever seem to get to snow.
WOW! That is a lot of hail :o
We probably would have been scared too.
Was it cold on your feetÉ

We don't get snow here. Hail can be nasty if there is a lot of it. Lynettea told me a story of a place she was living in northern NSW with her mother when a freak hailstorm rushed through ripping the fly screens to pieces, smashing windows and smacking big dents on the roofs of cars that were out in the open. Those hailstones were really big, whereas our hailstorm yesterday had small hailstones, but lots of them. Quite a few shops nearby were flooded.

Wow, you really got a good amount of hail. Sasha! We are glad you were inside when it came down ... that icy stuff hurts!
